次期マツダMX-5（ロードスター）に固定式ハードトップのクーペモデルが追加になるかも知れないという噂。日本では、ロードスターという車名にそぐわない車になってしまいます。
例のAutomotive Newsでは、次のような書き方になっています。
Roughly a year after the soft-top goes on sale, Mazda will release a hardtop MX-5 that will have a unique, fastback-style silhouette, Automotive News has been told.
この「hardtop MX-5」って、今のリトラクタブルハードトップ(RHT)のことだと思っていたのですが、どうやら固定式ハードトップのことと読むみたいです。
Motor Authorityでは、「fixed hardtop coupe」と固定って書いてますね。
The fourth generation of the Mazda MX-5 Miata is on its way in the very near future. But what might that future hold? Is it possible there’s a fixed hardtop coupe in the works?
なんだか、ただの表現上の問題のような気もしますが、果たして事実はどうなのでしょう？
